Classroom visits
Bug Experience
Students will meet live animals to learn about the difference between arthropods, insects, arachnids, and true bugs. A large focus on this presentation is the roles arthropods play in their environments and how to interact with them. We love to work with teachers to adjust the presentation to fit the topics your class is learning!
Buggy Story Time
Hear stories from around the world about bugs with large stuffed versions of the characters, and real specimens from these stories.
Ask an Entomologist
Why do centipedes have so many legs? Where do moths go in the winter? Why do ants like picnics so much? If your students have some burning entomology questions, we love to answer them! FOR FREE!!! We even schedule 20-minute Zoom interviews for Science Fair or other school projects that your kids have that are bug related.

Entomology for everyone
Group Crafts
Insect-themed group crafts and activities, with programs specially adapted for memory care residents. Use nature to inspire creativity, group engagement, fine motor skills, and most importantly FUN!
Community Visit
Entomology is for all ages! Have Elytra Education come visit your center, group, or senior organization – and we always welcome younger family members to join. This visit includes a 45 minute presentation with live bugs where learners will explore the difference between arthropods, insects, arachnids, and true bugs. A large focus on this presentation is the roles arthropods play in their environments and how to interact with them. This also includes a portion dedicated to questions, because people have had so many different experiences with arthropods in their lives.
Bug Experience
Families will learn about different bugs through counting legs, observing and exploring stuffed bugs, and getting to see live bugs up close. This works great for toddler, no-school, and summer programming!
Brownies Bug Badge
Covers all the badge requirements: bug poster, bug craft (supplies included), live bugs in action, meet an insect professional, and exploring bug homes. Troops must supply their own badges.
Buggy Story Time
Library-length insect story time with stuffed characters and preserved specimens. We do have our own collection of insect stories, but are always happy to collaborate with librarians! Excellent for baby and toddler story times, stay and plays, or other reading time programming.
Library programming
Senior Bug Experience
45 minute programs with live insects and arachnids, grandchildren and families encouraged! We will learn about what makes a "bug" a bug, the differences between insects and arachnids, and talk about local arthropods you can find around you.
