the Ironclad Beetles.
Asbolus verrucosus
Ironclad beetles are sometime also called death feigning beetles because when they're scared they will pretend to be dead! The two species most often seen as pets are black and blue ironclad beetles - the blue species produce a waxy coating on their exoskeleton that protects them from the desert sun, and this makes them look blue. The black species look more grey. These beetles love fruits and fresh dead insects, and bell peppers.
